Don’t worry! There are still 32 days to do those things, so just put your everything into the last few weeks! Plus there are only 11 days till the new Monster Hunter… I hope I can still make it to work after its release…  I really can’t wait! 😛

Today we’ll be running this corner once again!
Kuroyagi-san’s Letter Corner!

(゚д゚) Letters asking about changes to products are quite hard for me to reply to… but I do pass the info onto the design team!

(゚д゚) If you want to let me know something without me talking about it on the blog, just let me know in the mail and I’ll be happy to keep it quiet!

Please note that whatever I write in this section isn’t official – it’s just my thoughts on matters! If you’re only looking for official news, you might want to dodge this post!

Alright, let’s get started!! (・∀・)ノ

Hello Mikatan!
I recently picked up Cirno, so I decided to send you a picture!

– Proud Young Tiger

“I’m the strongest, got it?!”

Is what I imagine her saying in this picture! It’s a lovely shot! The lighting is also really great! It really gives an icy feeling to the picture! I know this was your first mail, but I hope for more in the future!

To celebrate the start of Fate/Zero,  I decided to take a picture of Saber with this bridge in the background! It isn’t night, but I think the atmosphere still comes across nicely! I’m looking forward to the Fate/Zero version of figma Saber!

– Tanupon

Fate fans will know this bridge all to well!

figma Saber will be going on resale in December, so if you don’t have her yet, don’t miss out! I wanna go on an anime pilgrimage as well!  Hmm….

Hi there! I love reading the blog everyday!
Time really flies… I started reading your blog back in my third year of middle school, yet now I’m a first year university student. I still check Mikatan blog everyday on the train ride home!

The other day I had a day off university, so I decided to go to Kyoto with Akashi-san! I know The Tatami Galaxy finished airing over a year ago now, but I’m still a big fan of Morimi-sensei’s work, so I had to go on a little anime pilgrimage with Akashi-san

The picture is taken at Yoshida temple which is right near to Kyoto University. It was school festival season, but there was nobody over on this side, so I could take my photos in peace!

– Anonymous

Yet another pilgrimage photo!

I’m also a big fan of The Tatami Galaxy! This photo really makes it really feels like Akashi-san has jumped out of the anime and into real life! The light shining through the trees in the background also creates a lovely atmosphere!

I love reading your blog every day!
Puchitto Rock Shooter-chan is cute, but I wanted to let my favorite Nendoroid cheer as well, so I let Azunyan try on the cheerleader outfit! It looked so cute!! (*´ω`*)

– Yudakazu

The ribbons on her twin tails looks so adorable!!! If I had a cute Azunyan like this on my desk to cheer me on, I know I’d be able to get through the toughest of days!!

I’m from Iwaki city in Fukushima prefecture. There were some Osmanthus trees flowering in my garden, and so I decided to do something with them and Gumako, seen the colors matched…

What we need at the moment, is the simple every day life right in front of us. Crying, laughing, and looking back at the good times with a smile.I just want everyone to be smiling together under this same beautiful sky. For that to happen, we all have to play a little part, and those little parts will all add up!

– Anonymous

Lovely complementing colors! So cute!

The orange of the Osmanthus and Gumako’s orange really match each other! She’s like a little Osmanthus fairy! 😛

I’m so happy to see some mail from someone in Fukushima prefecture. I wanted to write something to cheer you on, but I just kept erasing it over and over again, unable to put my feelings into words. Just know that you have many fans that share your hobby on the other side of the monitor, and I’m sure one day everyone will be smiling together – the Cheerful JAPAN! project should be able to help the process along! 🙂

A picture taken for the Autumn months~
I call it, “After the Rain”.

– Leonov

Beautiful, as always!!

The clear sky after the rain looks beautiful! I love the way that your photos always capture the beauty of the weather so perfectly!
I wish I could take pictures like this… 😛

The other day I received my giant Good Smile Seijin Plushie~ I expected it to be big, but it was even bigger than I expected!
I gave it a hug and it was so soft and fluffy! I couldn’t be happier with the purchase! ^^ Gumako is also enjoying using his long arms as a slide!

– Mirumousu

Thanks for the wonderful comments!

And thanks for buying the Giant Good Smile Seijin Plushie! It was actually the Cheerful product with the smallest number made, so I’m glad to see those who bought it are enjoying it! I also ordered one!! 😛 I’m also glad to see Gumako is having so much fun with the plushie as well!

Happy Birthday Mikatan!
To commemorate Miku’s 4th anniversary, I made a special Nendoroid Petite stage out of Lego!

I was really exited after watching the live event at Sapporo, that I build this in no time at all! Miku is such an angel I can’t wait for the 2012 Snow Miku!!

  – TV Bricksmith

Eeh?! The Miku at the back is also Lego?!

The stage really is great, but that Miku is also amazing! xD
Snow Miku is currently in production! I’m sure she’ll come out super cute, so look forward to it! I hope you’ll like her when she is announced…. ^^;

I love reading your blog whenever possible. The other day I got my recently released Nendoroid Minami Kawashima from Moshidora, and went out to the area in which it was set to take some photos. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great, but I still think it captures the atmosphere nicely. Maybe I’ll try again sometime when the weather is better.

– Okabin

Oooh! It looks just like the front cover!

There really were lots of anime pilgrimage photos this time around! It’s so great to see so many! It really shows people’s love for the figures and the series! Just be careful when taking photos outdoors – they can get damaged much more easily outdoors!

My figma Touma arrived today, so I decided to take some photos! This is my second male figma after Ren, so I was quite exited! I had to display him with Misaka and the her little sisters! Here is a quick shot of the three of them!

I think my Kuroneko will arrive next month… I can’t wait for her, as well as the figma Index next year in February!

  – Chisato

“So unlucky!!”

The Misaka little sister peeking out from behind him is great! It’s nice to see more male characters in the figma line-up now! The quality and posability of figma figures really is wonderful!

On the 9th October I went on an anime pilgrimage to Yuwaku hot springs with my homemade Hanasaku Iroha Nendoroids. The lanterns of the Bonbori Festival are in the background of the photo! I hope you enjoy!

  – kn1

All four homemade Nendoroids!

They really look well made as well! Incredible! When you can make them so well yourself, it almost makes me think you won’t need the real ones! But the GSC Nendoroid of Ohana-chan is wearing her inn uniform, so I hope you’ll display her with your homemade ones!

Of all the seasonal events, I think my best is Halloween! (人´∀`).☆.。.:*・゜
Here we have a photo of Rin trying to get some Halloween candy (ice cream…) from KAITO! 😛

There might be some cute little demons coming for you this Halloween, don’t forget to ready some candy!

  – Suzushiro

The blushing KAITO is so cute!!

It’s wonderful! The expression comes from Nendoroid Sanae, correct? It really suits KAITO! I really wonder if he’ll be willing to give away that last ice cream though….

This year’s autumn leaves have lasted a really long time thanks to the warm days! I haven’t taken photos outdoors in ages, and so it didn’t come out too well… particularly seen there were so many people around so taking this photo wasn’t easy! 😛

  – Al

Shooter-chan surrounded by nature!

It really is a beautiful background! The seasons here in Japan are so very distinct, so it’s great to have photos that represent them so nicely like this! I really recommend that everyone takes a figure with them when going out traveling – taking a photo with them like this really looks wonderful!

I love reading your blog!
I went out to take a look at some of the winter cherry blossoms with Kudo, so I decided to send a picture of the outing! It’s getting much cooler now, so be sure to take care not to catch a cold!

– babystar

Winter cherry blossoms! how beautiful!

I never see those where I stay! They’re really pretty! We’ve got some photos of autumn leaves and another of cherry blossoms! It’s hard to imagine all these photos come from the same time frame! It’s really moving into the heart of winter now, and it’s freezing outside – but looking at pictures like this should warm you up nicely!

Hi, Mikatan!
My name is Kent, from Toronto Canada.
Long time reader of your blog and first time writer.
I’ve always enjoyed your photos and your imagination. ^o^

My “Fate/Kaleid liner プリズマ☆イリヤ” Puchi just arrived last night.
I’ve conceived this crazy idea ever since I saw her on display at the Wonderful Festival Winter 2011 so I thought I share with you. ^o^
You’d have to excuse my terrible photography skills… I didn’t have enough light in the room and I was using a compact Sony WX-7. : (

Thanks again for always sharing such wonderful pictures on your blog!

– Kent

A message from Canada!

I’m so happy to see messages from all over the world! It’s so wonderful to know that even if we’re on the other side of the world, we are all connected by our love of figures!! I’m getting much more mail from overseas now, and I couldn’t be happier about it!! Your photography skills aren’t terrible at all! Even without enough light they’ve come out looking great, and super cute!

This is quite an old photo, from the day of WonFes.
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get to the event myself,  so I was at home, watching as analogue TV came to an end in Japan, as well as watching the Nico Live of the event. I watched the whole Live WonHobby from morning to late evening, it was great – thanks!

  – mopunari

The end of analogue TV!

We were all busy at WonFes, so I had no idea how they were going to show the final bits of analogue TV! I’m glad I got to see from your photos!
Thanks for watching the live show! Now that I think back on it, I wonder if I’ll ever be in Tokyo Tower again that late at night! ^^;

After reading your blog on the 20th, I remembered what made me get into figures as well. Just like you, I was amazed at how the 2D world came to life in the 3D world through figures. It’s now been over ten years since I started collecting figures, and I’ve got a load from all over – my precious treasures. They’re always there for me when times are tough!

In particular, I’ve fallen in love with GSC’s Nendoroid series, great quality at great prices!

My parents often ask me why I collect figures, but I don’t need to answer that with anything more than that they are my precious treasures, and I don’t intend to stop collecting anytime soon! I’m looking forward to many more figures from GSC in the future!

  – Yoshiyoshi

After reading your blog titled ‘What is it That Makes Figures so Amazing?’, I decided to mail you about my very own reason for starting to collect figures – and that would be this very blog! Mikatan Blog! I started reading Mikatan blog after becoming interested in Vocaloid, which got me to meet all sorts of great people as well. I’m really grateful to Vocaloid for that! My personal favorite figure at the moment is figma Rin-chan!

I’ll be reading more and more of your blog to find out about and grab more and more lovely figures! I can’t wait for your next update! (@・ω・@)

  – Akane

Figures really are an incredible work of art!!! They’re so finely detailed and well made, and no matter which angle you choose to look at them from, you can’t help admit that they are works of art!! I mean, you get people who see panties on a figure and think badly of them, and yet art textbooks are filled with naked paintings! It’s unfair! 😛

I just need to look at some figures everyday to help me get through the day. They’re so wonderful!

I really appreciate the work that all the people put into creating these works of art. I even wish I could become one of them! If only…

I absolutely love Mikatan Blog! I’ll be looking forward to all your posts in the future!

  – Mon (๑╹◡╹๑)

My favorite figures are those from the Bakemonogatari series! Particularly Hitagi Senjougahara! (・∀・)ノ
The figure really captures the feeling of the anime wonderfully – she is so beautiful! It’s great to see your favorite characters sculpted into such perfect figures! I really agree with your thoughts that figures are works of art! No matter who looks at a something beautiful – it’s always going to be beautiful!!

Ever since I was young, I always enjoyed fine art such as sculptures and what not, and then two or three years ago when I became interested in anime, that interest transferred to the figure world. I hope one day I’ll be able to be called a sculptor myself!

  – Enu

I received lots of mail related to the blog post What is it That Makes Figures so Amazing? from the 20th October.

I really enjoyed reading through everyones mail, thanks for the great response! It’s hard to put my feelings into words, but let me just put it like this – I’ll repay you by making sure GSC brings out more and more wonderful works of art! In the hopes that we can get even one more figure fan to join us!

That brings this Kuroyagi-san’s Letter Corner to an end!

Thanks to everyone who sent in mail!!
I read through every single on of them!

As always, I’m always looking for more mail from readers!

Let’s get started!! (・∀・)ノ

There have been so many mails about figma Archer! I’m also waiting for him! 😛

Hi there!
I’m so glad to hear that Nendoroid Masamune is going on resale! I’ve heard on a couple of review sites that it can be quite difficult to get him to stand up – has this been improved in the resale version

   - Miki

It will be fixed for the resale version!!

The image above is taken from the Phat company blog. They say they will be improving the stability the stand offers! There were a lot of people who thought a push-in type of stand would be better, but there is the family crest there and we don’t really want to open a hole up there…

The same stand used for Masamune will also be used Nendoroid Yukimura Sanada! It’s not 100% decided just yet, but you may be able to apply for the new stand to be mailed to you as well.

What great customer service!!
More info is available on the Phat! company blog, so check it out if you’re interested!

When will the Fate/zero Saber riding the bike be released?
I can’t wait!

   - Anonymous

It’s just an estimation at the moment…

She should be announced during December!

I also can’t wait to see the final prototype!! The production team also seems very exited about it, so do look forward to it!

I started watching Fate/zero which started this month, and I’ve become a complete Fate addict. Is there any chance we can see a resale of Rin Tohsaka –UNLIMITED BLADE WORKS-? I’ve searched all the shops I can find, but I can only seem to find her on auction sites now

   - Anonymous

Hi there! I love reading you blog everyday! I just recently found out about the Saber figure going on resale and quickly preordered it!
I was wondering though, whether we’d be seeing a resale of
Rin Tohsaka –UNLIMITED BLADE WORKS-? As soon as I preordered Saber, I realized just how much I needed Rin to stand by her side!

   - Anonymous

Ooh! As expected, the new Fate/zero series is bringing up more and more Fate fans!

Rin Tohsaka -UNLIMITED BLADE WORKS- will have more stock in stores from next week Monday!

If you’re lucky they’ll be in stores on Monday, but it might only be on the Tuesday or Wednesday. It’s a wonderful figure, so if you’re a fan it is definitely worth picking up!

I love reading your blog all the time! ^^
I can’t believe that Shuukan Hajimete no Miku is getting a Nendoroid rendition! I just saw an article about it on the manga’s official blog! That unsociable looking Miku is really cute, and I’m glad to see a Nendoroid of her! When you do a blog about the Nendoroid, can you please but her expression on KAITO? I’d love to see it!

   - HO

Done! ^^

I quietly fulfilled this request in yesterday’s blog, I hope you enjoyed it! That expression really is in a league of it’s own!

I see you wrote a blog today about yesterday’s SUPER GT, so I decided to send through this mail! I also went to the racing track yesterday and had a nice look at the Miku GT car!

Before the race started, I went down to the pit and got a nice close look at the car, and was really impressed at how great it looked from close up! Now that it managed to take the gold in the championship I’m even more impressed than I was before – thank you for the wonderful race!

If there is ever another race I’ll be sure to come take a look again, so I do hope to see the car coming back for the next season!

   - Oyaji

Congratulations, Miku GT Car!!

I went to the Motegi race as well, and got to see the legend in the making, it really was an incredible moment!! The racer, Yamaguchi and all the GSR Staff were all in tears when the victor came in!

The Miku car really tried it’s best, and the results are there to show it! It’s all thanks to all the support we got from people like you! See you next season!!

Will Erio Touwa’s sparkling hair be part of the figure? It really is a part of her character! If it’s not, I think I’ll just coat it with some glittered nail polish… though I’m just a bit worried that it might damage the figure or react in some strange way? If you could shed some light on the topic, I’d be happy!

   - Anonymous

Unfortunately our versions of Erio don’t have sparkling hair… sorry…

But, I tried out your method!

This is white glittered nail polish. Unfortunately, different nail polish can use different ingredients, so it might end up as an unfortunate experience with other types…

Just be careful when trying it!

As a side note, as soon as you put on a single layer, there is no turning back. There are nail polish removers, but they will very often peel the paint off the figure as well, so I don’t recommend even trying them. There is a little more info about that in this post over here:

DIY Figure Repairs Part 3: Scuffed Paint

Hello Mikatan!
The one anime that is entertaining me the most is the series called Uta no Prince-sama: Maji Love 1000%!

All the characters are so awesome, I just get so exited when watching the series! I absolutely love figures of cute girls and have tons displayed in my room, but I kind of wish I could get some cute guys to join them as well!

   - Jyunpaku no Sakuramochi

I must admit that I’m also a fan of the Utaprince series! Both the games and the anime! The addition of ‘Maji Love 1000%” to the title of the anime was pure genius, it really got me to start watching the series!

It really is an great series to watch!!  (n゚∀゚)n
A lot of people always ask who my favorite character is… if I had to pick one I think it would be Hijirikawa. But they really are all magnificent!

I keep seeing lots of outdoor photography, and seen I’ve been going traveling quite a lot recently, I often think I should try it for myself…
I was just wondering, is there some kind of carrying bag that suits Nendoroids well? You always see things like guitar cases, so I think we should get Nendoroid cases as well!

   - Shun @ Rin

Awhile ago, there were Nendoroid Travel Pouches!

Just their little heads pop out – it looks lovely! Koyamada from the production team makes use of them almost everyday!

Unfortunately, there were a special campaign present, and are not an actual product. Perhaps the quality will be upgraded a little for an actual product release in the future! I certainly hope so!

I’m so glad to see so much mail from female Nendoroid lovers!
On another note, I see that Nendoroid Menma is on her way, but you can’t have Menma without Jin-tan, so I do hope he is in the pipeline as well!!

   - 18 Year Old Beautiful Magician

I’m also glad to see so many figure loving girls!

Although, I also receive lots of mail in which I really do wonder if the sender is really a girl or not… but either way, I’m can kind of tell that a lot of them really are girls, so I’m happy nonetheless!

I guess you actually were looking for a reply to the second half of your sentence…

I recently received my Fate Extension Set, and can’t believe how cute they are, and what incredible quality they are for such small figures!

I mainly bought it for the normal human-sized servants, and to be honest I didn’t really care about Berserker (sorry… :P), but the quality of them all is incredible! I’ll be happy to even display Berserker by Ilya’s side!

   - Yoshiyoshi

Berserker is a load of fun to play around with!!
I’m glad you liked the set so much! There might be even more Fate Nendo Petites in the future… :O

I love reading your blog! But today’s blog’s images didn’t display on my phone at all! The Super Soniko article the other day was the same… so depressing…

   - Anonymous

It seems the article from 5/4 had no images… I tried both directly from my PC and on my mobile.

The pictures were too raunchy for ameblog!!

The Super Soniko-chan articles in particular seemed to be the most targeted… they have gone through moderation now, but I need to make sure I don’t ameblog again, so I’ll have to go easy on figures like that!! 😛

Hello! Nice to meet you! I’m a frequent reader of Mikatan Blog, I love it! This year I am a third year middle school student, and I’m starting to think about my future.

It was at that point I was wondering…. how can I become ‘Mikatan’? Working with figures all day long, even with lovely prototype figures! I’m sure it’s not quite as easy as I’m making it out to be, but I’d love to know how to become a Mikatan!! What work do you do besides write the blog and attend all the events?

   - Tokeru

It’s a lot more work than you’d think, I don’t think you want to become me! 😛 But if you really still want to know…

No matter what happens, never give up!
Love what you do!!  (`・ω・´)

As long as you follow those two guidelines, I’m sure you’ll make a fine Mikatan!
When you’re in the entertainment industry, if you have no love for the products you are working on then they’ll never come out as they should!

I’m sure you’ll meet with many different people and come across all sorts of things from here on out, and the most important thing is just to enjoy it! As much as you possibly can! That’s what will build you into what you’ll become in the future! … I should really listen to my advice though, as I’m still getting used to work in a company myself! 😛 I’m glad the way it worked out for me though. Ah, and I also work on product development!

I love reading your blog!

Thank you!

This was the entire mail! But the thought really got through!!

That brings this Kuroyagi-san’s Letter Corner to an end!

I also heard that Norman was going to come out as well? I hope that’s true – I can’t wait for the announcement!

Wow! It looks like a professional’s work!

It looks like a release shot used on the GSC website!! The combination of the background, hourglass and poses just makes for a perfect picture! I wish I could take pictures of this caliber!

Now that the figma BRS series has all been released, I decided to take a collection photo! Looking forward to the BRS game! ♪

A figma BRS Collective Photo!

The series really looks impressive when all displayed together like this! The floor tiles also really bring out the series’ atmosphere! GJ!

This is my very first mail through to you!
I was so pleased to find out about the upcoming TV anime version of BRS.  As a commemoration for the announcement, I’ve taken a photo of Yomi & Mato after school! I can’t wait to try the game version out as well!

   - Tanupon

It really looks like an after school scene!!

You also bring out their personalities perfectly by having Mato sitting on the desk and Yomi with a book open on hers. I hope next year’s anime lives up to your expectations – I know I can’t wait!

Hello. I’m a frequent reader that tries to read the blog everyday! Summer has come around now, so I decided to go out for some photos with Yoshika!
This Summer is going to be hot while we all try to conserve electricity, so some fun and games in water seemed perfect!

   - kzk

It’s so cute and refreshing!

Was this picture taken at a river? The way the light is reflecting off the water looks great! I wish I could go play with her!

I’ve been waiting so very long for my Nendoroid Taiga – even before the anime started I wanted her! Now that I’ve got her I’ve been taking all sorts of pictures with her!

One thing that Taiga is known best for is her love for food, so I’ve decided to send you this picture – picture her saying something like “Ryuji! It’s already cold!”

I absolutely love this expression, it suits her perfectly and is absolutely adorable. Absolutely adorable!! (I had to say it twice :P)

   - Spin

A very tsundere scene, ideal for Taiga!
I can understand why you have to say it twice – she really is so very cute! 😛

I love the way the photo is taken from Ryuji’s perspective – there is even food for him on the table!

I grabbed Nendoroid Cirno, so I had to take some pictures of her!
I know most people see her as an idiot, but I think a serious face suits her quite nicely as well! 😛

  - Ring

It looks like she is surrounded by ice!

There was another who sent me a picture using real ice, but this actually looked more impressive to me! The lighting is so perfect that you just think it is real ice when you first take a look!

Hello Mikatan! I’ve decided to send through my own photo to go up with all the wonderful ones I’ve seen on your site.
RC Miku-san is working on the Miku Hatsune : GOODSMILE BMW Z4 with a smile on her face!
It’s all thanks to her that the Miku Hatsune: GOODSMILE BMW Z4 is doing so well!

   - Hidemomo

Miku-san hard at work! 😛

That smile really shows her enjoying her work! ^^
It doesn’t matter what she is doing, Miku is always an angel!

The final showdown of the series is coming up! I’m hoping the Miku BMW will take the gold!!

Hello Mikatan!
I am sorry for writing in english. My Japanese is very bad because I haven’t
used it in ages!
My good friend is moving away soon. I’m going to buy her lots of Good Smile
goodies to say goodbye!
This is a photo I took of my Sakuya figma. I hope you like it!

   - Timmy

Oooh! It’s lovely!!

This is using a lamp shade, right? The stand is also nicely hidden so you can’t see it! A wonderful photo! I’m also glad to be getting so much mail from overseas! Thanks to all who sent in!

Was a really nice day outside so I went for a walk outside… and I found him!!
I found him just wandering about!!  (((゜д゜;)))
I think he’s already looking for a contract and I just haven’t noticed yet…!

   - haru88 さん

Kyubey out in the woods!

QB is well known to appear out of the blue in the strangest places,  but I never expected him out in nature like this! Somehow it does seem to suit him really well though… 😛

I went out to take a look at the hydrangeas with Kuroneko while there was a slight drizzle.
They were super pretty~

   - Kn.

It really gives a rainy atmosphere!

Kuroneko’s umbrella also matches the colors of the hydrangeas very nicely! The rather unpleasant rainy season can be a lot of fun if you spend it with your figures!

Hello Mikatan!
Today’s theme is ‘Towa’s LIVE’!

   - Omake

Manaka looks so cute with that expression!

A band with the three Love Plus girls…? I want to see it! Yet another wonder of figures – you get to do things like this! Plus the 3DS version of the game is coming out in December! I can’t wait ti play it!

Ever since I started taking pictures of my Nendoroids with the cherry blossoms, I can’t stop taking more photos with all kinds of flowers!
Now that it’s summer, sunflowers came to my mind, so I went out to a sunflower field in Ono city which is in Hyougo prefecture.
“I hope this smile reaches whoever needs it!”

   - Erimu

A photo that’ll make anyone smile!

At first I thought it was so beautiful that it must have been photoshopped, but there were other photos that clearly showed the stand – it’s such a lovely picture! This smile will get me through another day!

Take care!

   - youth

More lovely smiles from Cheerful Miku-san!

This photo comes from a reader in America!! She even has her very own Japanese and American flags to fly!
I’m so happy to see people all over the world supporting Japan like this! Thank you so much!! ・゚・(ノД`)・゚・。

Nendoroid Totori was so cute that I just had to take some photos of her! I tried to capture the warm atmosphere of the game in the photo! ^^

   - Kapo

Totori-san is working on her alchemy!

And whatever she has made looks absolutely delicious! The relaxed atmosphere really comes though the image as well – I wish I could jump in and join them.

The Miku: Snow Playtime version I’ve been waiting for has arrived, so I took some photos!!
(I combined her with the Western set to create an after dinner scene!)
The embarrassed expression is way too cute! (*^_^*)

   - Tamaki

What a spoiled Snow Miku-san!

Are the clothes handmade?? The Miku in the front is also amazing! Plus the lamp lighting up the fireplace – so much wonder in a single photo!

I always enjoy reading your blog! I took a look at everyone’s great photos with amazing composition and lighting and tried taking my own picture!

My Date has readied some tea and dango, and is patiently waiting for the red one to arrive! I wonder when he’ll arrive…(´・ω・`)

   - oubutei

Just wait a little longer!

If you wait for him, the dango are going to go stale, so I suggest you eat them now! (Sorry! :P)

Hello! I am a frequent reader of your blog and the GSC Homepage!

I made use of the recent Racing Miku decals to make a Miku styled iPhone case! The picture is taken with a Nikon D3, but I guess photos come down more to skill than the camera.

   - AlboFalcone3939

Oooh! Very cute!

Just with itasha, sticking the decals on in an effective way isn’t an easy task, but this looks great! They’re stuck all over making a lovely colorful collage. It almost makes me want to give it a try myself!

The other day, my signed figure arrived safely!
Thanks very much! huke’s signature is so wonderful I can’t bring myself to open the box! 😛

I decided I had to take a commemoration photo with my original figures!
Gold Saw is embarrassed to see how cute she is!

   - Shiputan

A winner from the Sumoko competition!

Golden-saw looks so cute on top there! And the heart made from a chain is very nice as well!

I know it’s sudden, but I’ve included a photo of my wife.

She is sitting beneath my rooms light and thinking about something while enjoying some snacks and coffee… She must be thinking about the lovely Madoka Magica figures that are coming out!

   - Fuisenzai

A wonderful photo!

A simple everyday scene where the character seems to fit in just perfectly! She looks so relaxed… I do wonder what she is thinking about… 😛

The other day I went out to the ‘Ano Hana’ sacred land – Chichibu city.
Everyone in the city was so kind, it really left a good impression on me. ^^
I can’t wait for a Nendoroid or figma of Menma!

   - Annon

In the middle of the night, I suddenly got the idea to make a Nendoroid Lat-type Miku!

It was the first time I’d ever tried meddling with how a figure looked, so I didn’t do much, but I tried remodeling her as best I could!
I hope it encourages some others to try it as well! (`・ω・´)b

   - GEN

Your first time!?

This is more than good enough! The headphones are done very well!
Officially I shouldn’t recommend remodeling figures, but it can’t hurt to try I suppose 😛

On the 12th June at Akihabara UDX a Steins;Gate Festival was hosted so I took my Nendoroid Kurisu along with me.
They had the IBM5100 that the legendary IBN5100 was modeled after on display, so I grabbed a picture!

   - ToY

It really nice to get a photo with the real thing like this! As a huge fan of Steins;Gate I really love to see a photo like this! 😀

Nendoroid Feiris is also on her way! She’ll be around to display with Kurisu and Mayushii soon!

That brings this letter corner to an end!
Thanks to everyone who send in mail!!

I make sure to read all mail that I receive!!

I also received something absolutely incredible!

This was made by one of the blog’s readers!

It’s incredible! I can’t believe it! Thank you so much! I really couldn’t be happier!

It’s really a perfect rendition! The panda ears, slippers, even the chair and the prototype box! I honestly first thought it must have been from one of the other staff members at first! Thank you so much for reading and enjoying the blog enough to make something like this! (Just look how detailed that camera is!)

Thank you very, very much!

As always, I’m always looking for more mail from readers!

Kuroyagi-san’s Letter Corner!

I hope everyone has been well since the last letter corner! It’s been a nice summer filled with events, but the winter chills are starting to set in now… but it’s only just starting!

Letters asking about changes to products are quite hard for me to reply to… but I do pass the info onto the design team!(゚д゚)

If there is a problem with your product, please email the Good Smile Support Team at support@goodsmile.jp(゚д゚)If you want to let me know something without me talking about it on the blog, just let me know in the mail and I’ll be happy to keep it quiet!

It’s been hard to find time to reply to messages, so sorry if I never replied to yours (I know I’ve been neglecting twitter replies a lot recently as well!) I promise I am always reading everything, it’s just hard to find to time reply! Thank you to everyone who has sent messages though!

Let’s get started!! (・∀・)ノ

I’m so glad to hear that there might be a KAITO Nendoroid resale soon. ^^ I’m just sending this mail to show my support for a resale!

   - Anonymous

I know I shouldn’t ask for products, but I’d really like a resale of Nendoroid KAITO!

   - Aoi Oneesan

Apologies for the wait!
He’ll be up again very soon!

It’s one of those products that has a very special place in my heart – I’m hoping you’ll all be able to enjoy it as well!

I was wondering, does GSC have any plans for a Ika Musume Nendoroid? She’s just so ridiculously cute that she seems perfect for the line! With the anime getting a second season, it’d be great to get a figure of her.
Thanks for your time!

   - elrunethe2nd

I agree, Ika-chan is absolutely adorable! I’m so glad to see that people outside of Japan can appreciate her cuteness just as much!

Phat! Company is currently working on an Ika-chan Nendoroid!
She’ll be announced officially soon, so keep an eye out!

I love reading your blog every weekday!
Just wondering – there hasn’t been any official announcement, but have the Nendoroids of Amagami’s Haruka Morishima and Ai Nanasaki been cancelled? ;_;

I would really like to see them on my shelf! I hope they’re still on their way!

   - Zeroshishi

Don’t worry, they’re still coming!
I’m sorry you’ve had to wait so long!

They are in fact scheduled to be upped on the GSC site very soon! Watch out on the blog and the official site!

I absolutely love the cute Nendoroid series! I have loads displayed on my shelf to calm me down after a busy day – they’re perfect at the moment to calm me down after tests and reports. 😛

I’m mailing today with my first ever product request for GSC – which is the characters from ‘Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa mada Shiranai’. I absolutely loved the anime, and would love to see some Nendoroids from it – I want to see all the ‘Peace Busters’ as Nendoroids. 😀 If a full Nendoroid is impossible, maybe even just Nendo Petites like the Bakemonogatari or Angel Beats ones!

   - Moku

You’re in luck!

Nendoroid Menma is coming soon!

This was the first display of the Nendoroid on display at the ANOHANA FES. which took place the other day at Chichibu Muse Park! There was a queue just to take a look at the figure – I can’t wait to get a look at it myself! 😛

I look forward to your blog everyday! I love it! I’ve been waiting for the male characters in the Nendo Petite Fate/stay night Extension set for ages! A big thanks to everyone at Good Smile Company.

I was waiting for so long hoping to see the other characters! I can’t wait for my Archer and Lancer!

   - Anonymous

I’m glad we could be of service!

Not long ago, Nendoroid Date Masamune was released and I forgot to get my preorder in… orz.
Any hopes for a resale?

   - Anonymous

I can’t say for sure at the moment… but I think you can look forward to the future!

figma Homura Akemi comes with extra braided hair parts, and on the prototype the ribbon for this hair was the one for her school uniform. When she transforms, the ribbon changes – is there any chance that will be fixed for the release?

   - Anonymous

You may already have heard, but this is being fixed!
Some others have already pointed it out for us! Thank you!

More information can be found in Japanese over at the figma blog, take a look if you’re interested: http://ameblo.jp/figma/entry-10958558125.html

Snow Miku is super cute and looks really great in my figure display case! The ice-tray that came with it just won’t make good ice for me though! The leek in particular just never comes out right! (´・ω・`) Are there any special tips for using it?

   - Anonymous

The leek is really difficult!!

The basics are to take it out as slowly as possible, using something like a toothpick to pry it out carefully. All the parts besides the leek can be heated on the reverse side to get them out a bit easier as well – I did make a blog about the ice tray some time back, do take a look at that!

I enjoy your blog each and everyday!! I’m currently a first year high school female student and I’m looking into possible employment for the future. I’ve become quite interested in getting work as a sculptor! What exactly should one do to get into the working world of sculptors? Is there anything I should be doing from now?

   -Nekomi mi

A high school student… and a girl at that!

I do my best to respond as best I can to any questions from fellow girls!

I went to have a talk with the 1/8th scale BRS Series sculptor, Akeji!

A sculptor doesn’t need ant special license or anything, and there are many ways you can end up getting work as a sculptor. All the sculptors I know have all come from different employment and educational backgrounds – it’s quite interesting to hear about them sometimes. As a high-school student you should try to get into club activities or circles that work together doing things like sculpting. Attend events and activities that involve the sculpting scene, and try to find try-outs that figure makers are holding to get your work considered.

I myself only reached the decision to take on this profession very late (around the age of 25). Ever since I’ve been making figures 365 days a year and given up most of my normal human life. ^^;

Oooh! 365 days a year! That’s impressive!! 😛

But on a serious note, it shows that you have to be serious to work as a sculptor – it’s not an easy job by any means! But as a high-school student you have unlimited possibilities at the moment, if you still want to be a sculptor in a few years I’m sure you can make it happen!

I really enjoy working with very fine details on things, and was thinking of looking for work in the figure industry in the future. However, I can’t draw at all, and I hear that 3D figure modelling is much more important nowadays.

Can someone who cannot draw at all still find work in the figure industry?

   - Anonymous

Another industry question!

I saw the word ‘3D’, so now we’ll ask our 3D expert Takanon for some answers!

Of course you can! I do think that people who can draw well do have an advantage when sculpting figures. Drawing things and figure making join at two very important points, which are the ability to observe and  the ability to image things. You need to take a good look at the image things will be based off and take note of all the details, and then image how the figure will look in your mind and work out how to make that real! Both drawing and 3D modelling is basically repetition of these processes, along with making small fixes here and there until the final product is complete. When I was in university, I remember watching an educational program that taught me this: When you’re half way through, take a photo and get the opinions of some others – this is exactly how sculpting the the real world works. The rest is just having fun while sculpting! It was nice to think about this from my side as well – thanks for the question!

The ability to observe and to image things!

When you think about it, it really is logical, but hearing it from someone in the industry really makes it official!! 😛 I also asked some other sculptors about this, and a lot of them mentioned picturing still images at different angles in their minds while working on sculpting – I think the ability to draw does definitely come in handy, but it’s not necessary!

Ah! I finally got my hands on some Nendoroid Petites! It was so hard to find them in my prefecture, so I had to go to the next prefecture to find some! (By the way, I’m a 6th year primary school student.)

   - ‘(`・ω・´Momonya´・ω・`) Sanwaribiki

Don’t tell your parents you’re reading this blog! 😛

I’ve really started to enjoy figures as of recent. I’ve always been a fan of things like soft vinyl figures and models since I was young, and now thanks to Nendoroids and figmas I’ve started to really like action figures as well.

I’ve been wanting to go to WonFes for awhile now, but I’m not sure if it’s the kind of place for me – I hesitate every time it comes around. When I see it on the news I always see there are a load of guys and not very many other girls… and most girls that are there are very young. In my case, I have a child already in primary school. He is also starting to show interest in models and figures now, so I was thinking that next year I might go along with him to the event.

Are primary school students allowed to join in at WonFes? How about older ladies like myself?

   - Burakki

I’m glad to see people of all ages reading the blog!
From primary school students to wonderful people like yourself!

As far as your question goes – you yourself are of course welcome at WonFes! There are definitely a lot of guys, but there have been more and more girls coming to the event as well recently! It’s great fun, even if you’re just there to look around at the event!!

Although, I can’t really say seen the event isn’t a GSC only event – the official website does mention that primary school students will get in for fee, so I don’t think there will be a problem at all. If you’d like more confirmation, feel free to contact Kaiyodo!

MEIKO is the #1 twenty-year old idol, and I finally get to have a Nendoroid of her! I knew Good Smile wouldn’t let me down!
She comes with so many great parts, I can’t wait to display her with KAITO! Thank you so much!

   - Toki Sakurai

I’m so glad that you’re so happy!

Hearing words like that make it easy to work harder and harder for the fans! Thanks from my side as well!

This year I found out about Mikatan Blog and started reading it for the first time.  On the top page you have the picture of all the Nendoroids and figures surrounding your computer and I thought it looked really nice – I always kept my figures in boxes, seen they still look cute like that, and it keeps them nice and safe…

But seeing how you had them displayed really made me want to take them out and display them – they might get a little damaged, but that just shows my love for them! Here’s hoping for more twin-tailed girls soon! (Madoka is so cute!)

   - yun (21 year old company employee/female!)

Another mail that brings a smile to my face! Thanks!

When you play around with Nendoroids a bit you can really have a lot more fun with them! They’re also a nice small size perfect for putting on a desk to keep you company during the day!

I absolutely love any figures… I still remember the day I first held one. I just wish I could explain how wonderful they are to more and more people!

I’m normally just a roamer on the blog, but when I saw Sonic I had to send a mail through! I want to know more about that Sonic Nendoroid!!
As I saw him my eyes must have jumped out their sockets! Is it to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Sonic? Will we see any other characters!?

From this summer, I am the store manager of Yanrei Records on the 6th floor of BOXHILL Matsudo.I read your blog every day and love to see what GSC is to!

I’m sending this mail to let you know that I’m doing all I can to advertise ClariS’s new single with the Nendoroid Theme song! A lot of customers have been very happy to see the Nendoroid song on the single! I know you must be busy, but do come along to the store some time and take a look around!

   - Anonymous

Thank you for everything!

I was actually well aware of the effort put into adverting the single – I’ve seen it for myself, so thank you very much! I’ll be back to the store again soon, I promise!

Hello! I’m a frequent reader that really enjoys the blog! I’m mailing regarding the Nendoroid Yune that will be released next year – will her expressions be exchangeable with other Nendoroids like Miku? You didn’t seem to mention it on the blog, so I decided I had to find out for myself. Thanks for reading, and I hope for a reply!

   -  Verl

She does have exchangeable expressions!

However, she is still in the process of being mass-produced, which can change things – so no promises just yet!

Not long ago you showed us the 1/8th scale Kurisu Makise figure – but there is something I just have to see. Is it possible for you to put Lat-type Miku’s glasses on her? I’d love to see a photo of that up on the blog. I think it’ll recreate the Kurisu from the OP theme CD jacket of the anime!

OK! I’ll give it a go!

Ooh! It really does look cute on her!

This was done on the prototype figure by the way, so I can’t say for sure if it’ll work the same on the final product! I also had to cut the glasses a little shorter to fit onto her neatly! But it does look really nice!

I really enjoyed the blog about the Tokyo Game Show! ♪
You also got an amazing shot of the Kurohyou girls! (I just had to tell you that!)

Whenever I see a group of guys taking photos of something in Akiba I can’t help but think it’s nothing but trouble! But if something there is cute, all you need to courage and strength to get there!

   - Modoki Yachiyo

Yep… being surrounded by all those guys trying to take photos is such a mission!
But if it is for the cute or the sexy, it’s all worth it!

Are Nendoroid Sayaka and Kyouko coming?!

It seems like my Date Masamune is going to write something… I wonder what! Date and the two Bakuman Nendoroids are so cute! I love them! I’m looking forward to what figures are coming up next! (´∀`)

   - Eririn

It looks like he’s working hard at it!!

That serious face and crossed arms really do give off the feeling that he is thinking about what to write!! I do wonder what exactly he is writing about, though. 😛

Congratulations on your 10th anniversary, GSC! I hope you continue to move from strength to strength!

Today is Children’s Day, so I decided to take a picture with Haru-chan and some carp streamers…. all in miniature mode…

   - Kn.

It’s as if you can feel the breeze!

A truly wonderful photo that really captures a precious moment! The little extras all around her add to the detail so nicely as well – it’s such a nice scene!
Plus the little carp streamer that is watching the carp streamers with Haru-chan… he’s so adorable!

Yesterday my Kuroneko arrived, so I had to take some photos ASAP. ♪
I wanted to get a picture of her making doujin games, so I made a quick notebook PC out of cardboard. ^^;

   - Annon

You made that yourself!!?

It’s incredible! I can even see the keyboard’s keys! I wish I could make things like that! For those like me who aren’t good with this kind of handiwork, there is a notebook included in Phat! Company’s Classroom Set!

I always take some photos over at Kyuufurukawa Park, and this year when I heard the roses were going into bloom I went along with my Nendoroid Kuroneko.

I took this photo with the scenario of her saying “I want you to give me this rose”. I actually wanted to find a slightly redder rose, but a TV crew was filming on the day so I didn’t have a chance to get close to the ones I wanted.

There are a load of beautiful flowers at the moment, so do consider visiting yourself!

   - nekobin

Kuroneko looks perfect with roses!

That face is just too adorable, and the rose is gorgeous and suits her so nicely!
I suddenly get the urge to do some outdoor photography myself… (´;ω;`)

For my birthday someone gave me custom made Nendoroid Rin & Len figures – magnet Rin & Len! (^ω^)
They were so cute that I just had to share them with everyone else, so I decided to email you some photos! Both Rin, Len and I will be super happy if you take a look!

   - Haru

I took a look! And I loved it!

The costumes and little extras are all custom changes… it’s amazing!! I particularly love the way the wings look – I kind of want those headphones for my Nendoroids too! Thank you very much for sharing them with us!

It’s a simple picture, but I decided to send a picture of my Rin and Len!
I’m a big fan of the Nendoroid series, and when ever I’m feeling down they really cheer me up. I’m really grateful to everyone at Good Smile for bringing these lovable figures into the world!

   - Yanagi

And thank you for a wonderful picture!

They look so cute in this picture, it really brings a smile to my face!!
I might be wrong, but I believe the background and clothes are made to look as if Rin and Len are the master of ceremonies at a wedding! (Apologies if I’m wrong!). I’m sure if anyone were to get married with such cute announcers they would without a doubt be happy for life! ^^

Spring is changing into summer far too quickly, so as a memory of Spring I decided to send this picture through. The title for the picture is “Yearning for Spring”.

   - Leonov

She is such a cutie!!

As I’ve said before, I love photos where a girl looks up like this! They instantly become three times as cute when the picture is from above! As always, your photography skills are incredible!

I just got my Western Playset, so I decided to play around a bit!
They are just the right size for figma as well, so it was a lot of fun to play with! 😛 Lulu-sama really is in his element!

   - Ringo

The playsets works with figmas too!

In yesterday’s post we also had a figma using the playset – I’m actually really surprised at how well it works with them! 😛
But seeing Lelouche is this kind of atmosphere really is ideal isn’t it… it’s almost too perfect…

Thanks for the blog every weekday, I love reading it!
I took a picture using a sliver of moonlight coming through my curtains and I quite liked it, so I decided to send it through to you! Youmu stands staring into the night, patiently waiting for the day that Good Smile announces that Yuyuko-sama’s Nendoroid has been sent out…

“Yuyuko-sama… how late should I stay up waiting for you….?”

   - Anonymous

You’re scaring me, Myon!! ! ((((;゚Д゚))))

Why is she holding swords in both hands? xD
And by the way, Yuyuko has been safely sent out from GSC… I hope she has managed to meet up with her now!

I tried making my own Nendoroid Petite of Ghost in the Shell’s Motoko Kusanagi to display next to the Nendoroid Tachikoma. I made a smiling and a shouting face, two sets of legs – one for standing and one for sitting, as well as a handgun, sub-machine gun and a body and rifle to recreate the scenes from episode 21.

… I think I made a bit too much, but I’m sure there are others like me who would love to see her as an official product!! Maybe even just as an extra to a magazine or something!

   - Lunapon

Everything from here are custom made figures by fans!
This one has incredible detail for it’s size!!

If you look up close you can see how carefully the body has been made…. I also really like the way you’ve done the flow of the fair! It looks just like Motoko!

I decided to make a custom WRS-chan. The arms coming out the back of her armor use a ball-joint so they can be moved around a little too! ^^

   - Monban

This looks 100% authentic!! xD

The expression is from Gold Saw-san, the sickle must be DM-san’s and the body is BRS-chan’s, right? Everything else is all made from scratch? Wow!!

I tried to make my own Nendoroid Lum-chan. 😛
She needed a nice upset face, so I made use of Kuro-chan’s expression.

   - Keme

She’s so adorable!!

I know a lot of guys will say that Kyouko is better, but I definitely think Lum is cuter! There is no way this can lose!!! (`・ω・´)
Once again, this is incredible quality – really well done!!

This month is finally the month that my Miku: Support ver arrives… I can’t wait! While Miku-san is cheering, I thought team Death Note could so some preaching, so I made a “Let’s Save Electricity” poster using their Nendoroids!

I’m also doing my best to conserve electricity, so I only get to read your blog in the evenings, but I love doing so every day!
Try not to catch a cold this rainy season – stay well!

   - Ricao

A wonderful poster!

If the Nendoroids tell us to do something, I’m sure a lot more people will understand! 😛
This summer is a summer to conserve electricity! If we all work together we can get through this easily!

That brings the 54th Kuroyagi-san’s letter corner to an end!
Thanks to everyone who sent in mail!
I make sure to read each and every mail I receive!

As always, I’m always looking for more mail from readers! I promise to read it, and swear I won’t eat it! 😛

If you have any questions, photos, product requests, want to talk about what you ate today, your goals for the summer… no matter what you want to talk about, send it through to me! Girls and boys both welcome!
(゚∀゚)Mikatan Mail:

That’s all for today!
I hope to see you all again tomorrow!!

Hi again everyone!
I’ve managed to catch a summer cold thanks to the sudden temperature change, but I’m just taking loads of medicine to get me through the day as normal!

Anyway, today we’ll be continuing with this corner!

Kuroyagi-san’s Letter Corner!

Today we’ll take a look at some of the lovely photos you all sent in!

(゚д゚) Letters asking about changes to products are quite hard for me to reply to… but I do pass the info onto the design team!

(゚д゚)If there is a problem with your product, please email the Good Smile Support Team at support@goodsmile.jp

(゚д゚) If you want to let me know something without me talking about it on the blog, just let me know in the mail and I’ll be happy to keep it quiet!

Let’s get started!! (・∀・)ノ

My heart has been stolen by figma Mato-chan…

I hope we can see a figma of her in her casual clothes, and maybe a Nendoroid as well! I’m also looking forward to the Yomi-chan figma!!

    – S Ranguren

That dark glare and rose are wonderful!! (*゚∀゚)=3

It looks like she is plotting something… she’s plotting something! She’s joined the dark side!

This also goes to show just how well Phat! Company’s playsets work with figmas! I must say I love Yomi as well – those who are debating whether to grab her or not, look how great she looks here! (Sorry for advertising with your photo! :P)

I knew this background which was used in the series was close by, so I decided to go out and take some photos. It was a nice sunny day and I think the pictures came out really nicely. (at least, by my standards.)
I absolutely love the folded arms and that confident expression. In just the short time she was out I managed to drop her while taking the photo… she injured her back…

  - Spin

Thank you for the pilgrimage! (・ω・)ノ

I believe Station Yamada also came to this place to take pictures with Kirino. 😛

I hope her back is alright! Taking photos outdoors does often lead to more injuries than indoor photography – consider bolstering the joints with some double sided tape to avoid unnecessary damage!

My mom is a Yui fan so when I go out with her I bring Yui along with me. She even said she wanted her own one! It made me kind of happy 😛
It just made me wonder how many Nendoroid fans are made through situations like that…
Anyway, here is a photo of a smiling Yui, I hope it brings a smile to everyone!

   - Azusakoi

What a lovely smile!! (゚∀゚*)

I’m glad that you are able to enjoy Nendoroids with your mother! Be sure to take her out all over the place and make some more lovely memories!

I’m sure we can spread the happiness of this smile to even more people!

I’ve sent through a couple of photos. They were taken at Tokushima park and my house.

   - Mitoku Hirai

Gardener Myon!

The plant she is working with is a pine (I think?) – it really creates a nice Japanese atmosphere that suits her so nicely! To see her working so hard on plants that are so big for her… I feel like I need to give her some treats… (plastic ones at least…)

Cherry Blossom Photo?

… Nope, it’s Myon!

   - Hige

It is indeed Myon!

I was asking for cherry blossom images not too long ago, so I really did think it would be one… :/

The wispy spirit effects are photoshopped, right? I also notice I can’t see the stand at all, so it’s very well done!

I know the Angel Beats! Petite Nendoroid Sets 1 & 2 have already been released, but I hope we’ll see some of the Girls Dead Monster girls as well – the girls that ran the band in the afterlife! Along with the drums! >ω<

That’s it, hope you’ll consider it!

   - Kumagaya

There were a lot of readers who sent photos along with product requests this time around… that’s cheating! 😛

It seems Kumagaya-san has the same tastes as me…

Those thighs…

Hello Mikatan!

I just saw something really wonderful~
At about 3 o’clock today, the Earth was as close to the Moon as possible! It looked so big! Apparently this only happens once every 18 years!
I decided that Flandre was the most appropriate for the moon, so I took her out onto the veranda for some quick photography! It was really cold though, so I didn’t stay long. ^^;
The picture was taken on a mini digital camera, so unfortunately this was the best lighting balance I could get. I’m sure those with nicer cameras would have grabbed a much niver picture, but I personally loved this anyway, so I decided to send it through to you.

  - …:) (Niko)

Oooh! It’s so bright!

Plus the light is reflecting off Flan-chan’s wings which makes it look really pretty! It’s a really nice photo!

Photography in the dark is indeed very difficult, I’m sure it’d just be a blur if I ever tried… orz.

I took the 2009 Racing Miku with me to watch the races – congradutions on getting 5th place in your first match, GSR!

   - haru88

Racing Miku watching from a hand-chair!

I love photos like this that really show the difference in size between people and Nendoroids! 😛 The way it has been taken from the back also really makes it feel like she is watching the races herself – it’s super cute!
I can’t wait to see how much the ‘Hatsune Miku GOODSMILE BMW Z4’ can rise up in the races to come!

Spring really is the season of flowers… thus during Golden Week I decided to go out with Miku-san to take a look at the Spring flowers – Miku looked so cute with the flowers, it made me feel all warm and happy inside. I wanted to share the feeling, so I thought I’d send you a photo!

   – Gehena

She looks absolutely bewildered! ・゚・(ノД`)・゚・。

If I was there I imagine she would ask “What is this?”, and then I’d respond “If you touch it, it’ll eat you up!” just to see her frightened reaction!!

The expression is from Azunyan, right? It’s such a wonderful expression to use on anyone…

I have finally found the time to send through some photos of Kyon that I took last month. The cherry blossoms had already all fallen, so instead we just went for a walk to look at the dandelions around the local park 😛
It was past noon when we left, so there were lots of families, couples, and people walking their dogs – it was quite hard to find a place for a good photo… but I eventually got a couple, so I decided to send them through to you.

   - Yu.

Kyon also looks somewhat bewildered!!

I get the feeling that he would look perfect if he was placed together with the earlier Miku….

I love the way he seems to be staring at the dandelion flower so intently… xD

I just recieved my long awaited Gold Saw, and took a picture with my cellphone. The title is “Moonlit Gold Saw”.

    – Gaukusu

A very fitting pose for Gold Saw-san! ヽ(゚∀゚)ノ

It’s a little bit small seen it was taken with a cellphone camera. but the blue background and moon really bring out Gold Saw’s beauty. The rubble around the floor and background is also a nice little touch!

I heard you were going on and on about Menma, so I decided to send some old photos I took in Chichibu when I went to look at the cherry blossom lawns. This picture was taken near Chichibu shrine.

I also hearby place my request for a Eirin Yagokoro Nendoroid!

   - Gaukusu

Ooh! A pilgrimage to that holy land! ((((゚Д゚)))

When I saw the picture I was positive you were going to ask for Ano Hana Nendoroids… 😛

Unfortunately the Nendoroid line-up is a secret so I can’t say anything on here (there is already a lot of gray parts on the blog…), but we’ll do out best to cater to all the popular requests!

Hi there.

The other day, I went to the Nendoroid cafe I managed to get a really nice picture – while I was walking back I decided I just had to send this one through to you.

It seems that my KAITO is really good friends with the Good Smile Seijin! I took him home with me as well, so I’m sure they’ll become the best of friends back at my house 😛

   - Mizuna

It’s hard to explain, but it’s so adorable!!

The way he is putting his arm around KAITO like that… :O
A truly wonderful photo – thank you! I really love it!

The cafe can be found in Chiba, Matsudo – so do stop by if you have the chance! I hope you’ll stop by again as well, Mizuna!

Anyway, that brings the 53rd Kuroyagi-san’s letter corner to an end!
Thanks to everyone who sent in mail!

(゚∀゚) Mikatan Mail:

But that’s all for today!
I hope to see you all again tomorrow!!

Tomorrow will be another Kuroyagi-san Image Special! (・∀・)つ

I’ll be showing a load more pictures that everyone has sent in!

Hi everyone!

Can you believe that there are less than two months until WonFes already!!? Everyone in the office is already busy with preperations… I’m also hoping the Milky Holmes will so a performance again!

Anyways, it’s been awhile, but it’s time for another…

Kuroyagi-san’s Letter Corner!
I’ll be answering some email from my inbox!

I’ve also been getting a load of opinions from twitter recently, but I still think email is a great way to send in your thoughts. I can’t reply to everyone’s tweets and mails, but I promise I do read them all!

Let’s get started! (・∀・)ノ

I’m a frequent reader of your blog, and I was wondering if Nendoroid KAITO was going to go on resale again at any stage?
I didn’t manage to grab him during the last resale, so I really hope I’ll get another chance.

   - Anonymous

Good Smile’s figures are always so cute and awesome that I’m buying too many… I’m running out of space on my shelves!

I must say that one of the figures that I really want as a female collector is Kaito-nii-san! Apparently there is going to be an append version of him, so I hope I can grab him then. I also hope we can see a big scale figure of Kaito one day as well! I’ll be waiting to put my order in!

   - Kanagawa

There was way more mail similar to these two… it seems KAITO really is popular with the ladies!

Nendoroid KAITO is currently being considered for resale!

It’s nothing solid yet, but I think there is a strong chance that there will be a resale soon. As far as a scale figure goes, there are no plans for one at the moment, but Advent Miku has just gone up for preorder – she is definitely worth the buy!

I look forward to your blog every day!
I was really looking forward to my Nendoroid Masamune Date and it was well worth the wait – I love him!!
The next one I’m looking forward to is Sanada Yukimura… I’ve been waiting for ages… I keep seeing new Nendoroid announcements but I never see Yukimura…. Granted, I still buy all the other Nendoroids as they’re all cute… ^^
I’m sure there are a lot of things that get in the way, but I hope that I’ll see a Nendoroid Sanada Yukimura soon!!

   - Chiyo

There were also a load of mails like this one!
Phat! Company is currently hard at work on this one!

It’s definitely making progress, so just wait a little longer!

Hi there, I’m a relatively new reader that just recently got into Nendoroids – at the moment I only have one – Kirino Kousaka, but I do have Kuroneko on order and I’m sure I’ll be picking up more soon.

I live alone in a one-room apartment, so I really don’t have much space to display figures, but for now I’m displaying them on the corners of my bed – Nendoroids really are the perfect size to fit there, where a normal scale figure would just fall off. It’s really impressive looking at the photography that some people take of their figures… and yet I’m having trouble just finding a way to display them. ^^;

I hope to see some more Sora no Otoshimono Nendoroids coming soon, like Nymph and Astraea!

   - Kouichi

Those who were watching last week’s live broadcast will know, but…
A Nendoroid of Nymph is coming to accompany Ikaros!

She’s still undergoing some changes but will be up on the GSC site soon – I’m sure I’ll get a review on the blog soon as well!

Hi there! I’m a fan of the blog and hope to continue reading it for some time to come!
I actually have a product request… I really hope to see Nendoroids of Homura Akemi, Mami Tomoe, Kyouko Sakura and Sayaka Miki from Puella Magi Madoka Magica (Yes, I want them all! :P)

Also, what about the other three Milky Holmes girls? I’m really looking forward to them!

   - Homuhomu Purin

Worry not!

Elly is following on from Sharo – she is coming soon!

Just like Nymph above, there are still a few things to confirm before she debuts on the GSC site. She also apparently has some surprizing optional parts – which you’ll just have to look forward to a little bit longer! (I’m looking forward to it too!)

A little while ago at Lawson’s K-ON! Fair, there was a Lawson & TBS Limited Edition Nendoroid Petite set featuring Yui, Mio and Azusa – and as stated on your blog, it included stands for five characters.

My question is, are there any plans to create Nendoroid Petites of Mugi and Ritsu to complete this set? Or did I perhaps miss the time they were on sale? I can’t bear not completing the collection!

   - Anonymous

Unfortunately product line-ups are forced to change sometimes…
There are no plans to make the other two at this stage…

The original intention of including the five stands with the set was so that you could display other Nendoroid Petites with the three girls – from the other set of K-ON Petite Nendos!

I am really impressed with Good Smile’s charity products.
I live near Tokyo, so I did feel the earthquake, but there were no long-term effects on my side. (Although I did lose a few figures in the incident.)

On the other hand, those up North near the coast suffered incredibly. I don’t think there is any way to experience what those people are going through at the moment. We can look at the destruction on the TV and internet, but at the same time we are all just continuing our normal lives – which I for one am very glad for. I know there are not many people who will go out and volunteer to help, so it’s great to be able to give in some donations via Good Smile.

   -  Reader from Ogawamachi

Hi there. I am a Nendoroid newbie – I started collecting about one and a half years ago.

When I think about the people who live near the epicentre of the recent earthquake, I can’t help but think about how much trouble they must be going through now.  I think that figure collectors really suffered during this disaster – I do wonder how many Nendoroids were lost during the quake.

   - Anonymous

The region I live in was struck my the tsunami, almost washing my house away with it, along with my favorite place to take photos with Hachune Miku. Fortunately my family was able to escape the tsunami, and the house was left, albeit not in a very good state – there were power outages for a few days and a gas shortage, but thinks have started calming down now, so I decided to send a mail through to you.

Taking a look at my Nendoroid collection broken up and covered in scratches… I almost burst out crying. I had been collecting Nendoroids even before I was married – they were like special memories to me, and I don’t have the will to buy them all again – I am simply going to keep the scratched up versions and love them as I always have. It’s amazing how much happiness can come from playing with Nendoroids for a little bit.

I’m certain there are many just like me who have been struck by disaster and are suffering a lot more, so I will be happy to purchase Good Smile’s charity products. I’m also really glad that I can read Miktan blog again now – it really brings my spirits up!!

Eastern Japan is just fine, it’ll get though this stronger than ever. People over here are patient and strong – they’ll make a come back. I’ll be back with more beach-side photos eventually, and I’ll send them through to you once more!

   - Mokosuta☆

For those unaware, Good Smile Company has started a collaboration project between figure makers to release charity products to help raise funds for relief efforts in Eastern Japan – the title of this project is ‘Cheerful JAPAN!’.

– Cheerful JAPAN! –

I have recived lots of mail relating to the disaster, and I’ve carefully read each and every one of them. As a fellow figure lover, I really feel sorry for those who lost their beloved figures in the disaster, such as Mokosuta.

I hope that we can make some new figures that you like in order to build up a collection once more!

I have a KAITO Nendoroid that I absolutely adore, and when I woke up this morning, I noticed his neck was broken off…
Luckily I also had a spare version I picked up at the same time, but it’s a tad sad to just throw away a figure I’ve spent so much time with…

That’s when I remembered the D.I.Y figure repair tutorials you put up on the blog, grabbed some tools and started the surgery! It really was such a simple task – even a girl like me could do it – KAITO is just fine and back to normal! Now I can keep my beloved original KAITO by my side a little bit longer!

Thanks so much for the tutorials!

   - Anonymous

I am writing to thank you for the figure repair tutorials that you put up a while ago!
I was thinking of just fixing it using glue at first, but then I saw the joint repair tutorial you put up on the 25th March using a brass wire to strengthen the joint, and decided to give it a try. I was really scared when I was creating the hole with the pin vice, but it ended up a lot easier than I expected!

Next up I hope we can get a tutorial on some way of stopping them falling down in the first place! I want to protect my cute daughters!

  - Nonta

I’m glad they were at least useful to somebody!
Having to do surgery on your favorite figures is indeed a sad time, but for those willing to try it, be sure to read the following articles:

Hello! I’m a second year female high school as of this April!
I’ve become addicted to Nendoroids from about two months ago, and I never knew until now that you had a letter corner!
I was reading through all the old entires and found them to really interesting – but I thought the corner had already ended!

At first I always used to collect figma and big figures, but I always thought that Nendoroids seemed expensive for their size – but when I found the Love Plus Manaka Nendoroid I just had to get her. That’s when I found out how cute they are! In just a short time I’ve quickly amassed a small collection of 18 Nendor- I mean wives. I also have Totori, and three Snow Mikus on order! Plus I will get Nendoroid Cirno no matter what!

   - Anonymous

It hasn’t ended! :O

A second year high shcool student? Are you enjoying your school life? They’re some of the best years! Make sure you have lots of fun!

I am a fifteen year old girl who has been collecting figures for one year now.
This is my first mail, so I’m a bit nervous, but I really look forward to Mikatan blog’s update every weekday!
I was just admiring how awesome the White Rock Shooter figma that will be included with the limited edition of the BRS game looks. I kind of hope we can see a scale figure of it produced as well. On that note I’d also love to see more scale figures of the Touhou characters. (With cast-off please! :P)
I hope you’ll at least take it into consideration.

I also have a question – what is your favorite figure, Mikatan? I’ve always wondered…
My favorite figure… well there are just too many…. but if I absolutely had to pick one, it would be the BRS scale figure: Original ver, I think. The details are simply outstanding. I wish I could make figures like that.

   - Anonymous

It seems we had a lot of mail from girls this time around!
I’m not picking them just cause they’re girls, I promise!

My favorite figure is this one!

Chii from Chobits!
It’s actually a gachapon figure from Kaiyodou, but the details are really nice! Ever since I started working at Good Smile, it’s been sitting on top of my monitor.

This photo was tkaen by Jii-chan from the web team! Thank you!

Hello! I’m an everyday reader of your blog!
I’m also always somehow losing money everytime I read a review on your blog! 😛

I noticed some of the most recent figures are made using 3DCG which is incredible, but I was just wondering – are the prototype figures generally made by hand?
I’d love to see what kind of tools the pros use when sculpting figures!!

   - Rurumenmen

A lot of the sculpting starts off digitally now, but the final touches always require some manual work by the sculptors!
I must say you’ve intrigued me to take a look at what tools the sculptors use to do their amazing work – I’m sure I’ll be doing a blog entry that takes a look at the tools soon – look forward to it!

There hasn’t been any 1/8th scale figures of Luka-nee-san, have there?
I would absolutely love to see a figure of redjuice’s Luka-nee-san illustration! That beautiful costume and legs… they’re incredible… (*´∇`*)
Speaking of legs, Nadeko’s were also incredible… as well as the details on the stand!

I really do respect the production team over at Good Smile, you guys are great! m(__)m
You must be tierd out every day witht the amount of great work you put out! 😛
I hope we’ll see more great figures soon, and take care of yourselves! (Make sure they get the message please, Mikatan!) (^-^ゞ

   - Hachiyomodoki

I respect them just as much as you do!
But there are a lot of people at GSC who are tierd out every day. xD Thanks for the read!

The special included with the BRS game, ‘WRS’ – how is it pronounced?

   - Wamuu

WRS is for White Rock Shooter!
It’s quite a nice change, isn’t it 😛

(The original Japanese poster actually wanted to know how exactly the letters W-R-S were pronoucned- but since you’re reading the Enlgish version, I’m sure you know! :P)

Hello there Mikatan-san! I’m a girl reader, A~ya!
I was most surpirsed when you announced Nendoroid Prince on your blog the other day. I never expected Togashi-san’s works to become Nendoroids!

I’ve actually never seen Level E myself, but as a fan of Hunter x Hunter, I can only hope that this is a sign of future figures! He is also releasing a new book some time in July or August! I hope the day will come when I can see some more of his works as figures! (*´▽`*

   - A~ya

I was also quite surpized when I heard about the Nendoroid!
I hope he sells well, then we can see about whats in store for the future! I really do!

A long time ago you did a series of blogs involving creating the creation of molds for figure reproduction. I made up my own vacuum air removal machine and decided to give it a go myself. (I had a lot of spare time as I recently lost my job). I decided to mail you the results of my homework.

I didn’t want to link directly so I made up an image!

The thing that is most bizarre is that homemade vacuum air removal machine!

That’s a bucket! No matter what you say!!

This is really incredible though!!
To use Lego blocks like that… really incredible!
Anyone else interested in figure production, you should try too!!

By the way, the articles where I gave this challenge a try can be found here, but unfortunately they were before the English version started, so they are only in Japanese:

Congradulations on your 10th anniversary, Good Smile Company!

I was watching the live broadcast on Nico Live, there was so much happening, I was surpised and happy at the same time! I really wish I could have been there myself! ・゜・(ノД`)・゜・。

It’s so hard to get a nice look at the figure displays at places like WonFes and there are so many people wanting to look! I’ll never stop cheering for GSC – you guys always bring a smile to my face with your figures! I send my applause and thanks to you all! I look forward to the next Wonfes!

Oh, and Aki-san… please sleep more often. 😛

I was lucky enough to win a spot to the Good Smile Anniversary party! ^^
As soon as I entered, I was greeted with all the Nendoroids from the past, a tower of macroons and Aki-shachou and Mikatan in person! It was an absolute treat for me!!
On top of all that I also got some lovely goodies! It was like a dream!
I will continue to support GSC from now and forever! (`・ω・´)b
Thanks for thinking of the fans when you decided to have the 10th Anniversary party!! And thanks for all your hard work over the years!

Thanks to everyone who sent in images and comments reguarding the 10th anniversary! Plus the last illustration seems like it came from overseas! Yay!

It’s probably not really my place to say – but the reason we made it to 10 years is without a doubt thanks to everyone who supports us, and I hope we will be able to continue to meet everyones expectations!

And thus…

Thanks to everyone who sent in mail!

(゚∀゚) Mikatan Mail!

That’s all for today!
I hope to see you all again tomorrow!! (・∀・)ノ゛
