008

And these were the poses I got from that request!

And the reason they came by today was to bring…

The figma introduced on the figma blog yesterday…

001

figma Madoka Kaname!

The main character from the popular anime series Puella Magi Madoka Magica!

As you can she, she looks absolutely lovely!!!

I tried giving her a super cute pose… but really no matter what pose you use she looks adorable! The quality of the figma series really is incredible!

002

This is how she looks from the back!

Her frilly skirt has been perfectly recreated in figma form – the little triangle bits even make use of gradient painting for even more detail!

003

Let’s move onto the optional parts!

First up is her bow! (closed form)

Madoka’s weapon, the bow is included for her to use! It’s quite hard to see in this photo, but if you look toward the middle you can see the little pink stone in the middle as well!

004

Plus it opens up into a battle ready state!

The bow also comes in it’s opened up state – you get both forms with just the one figure – plus she also comes with four ‘arrows of light’ made from clear plastic, allowing you to pose her ready to fire her arrows!

Plus she has a ‘serious face’ as seen above!

The perfect expression for battle scenes!

005

She also comes with a frightened face!!

This expression is really great in my opinion – it really feels like Madoka! Of course with three expressions you have the choice as to whichever you want to display!

Plus she comes with a Glyph Seed!

It’s so tiny! So very tiny! But even so it’s very detailed for its size – I kind of hoped the figma would come with one of these, it’ll help recreate a couple of scenes! (By the way, the Glyph Seed is still in production at the moment, so it might still change slightly for the final release.)

006

Even QB is included…!!

It wouldn’t be a Madoka figma without Kyuubei!

He is staring into your soul in the above picture… but worry not, as his neck is posable, letting you pick where he looks!

007

I did this back for the Nendoroid of Madoka as well, but…

Bonus! (Madoka from the OP theme!)

I actually wanted to make an animated gif of the opening scene using the figma, but I was kind of worried I’d damage the master figure… and then I’d be in a lot more than just trouble, so I eventually decided against it. ^^;

But that won’t stop someone else doing it when it releases – I want to see it when you’re done! 😛

Find more figma reviews over at the figma blog!

I was told I had to start off with that today…

008

What figure could Batayan be holding with such great care?!

I really, really wanted to play with this figma, so I quietly took her back to my own desk and decided to do my own review!

001

The 4th Bakemonogatari figma!

figma Suruga Kanbaru!
One of the many heroines from the popular anime ‘Bakemonogatari’!

It’s incredible! Absolutely stunning!
It’s so detailed for a figma-size figure! The coloring team over at Max Factory really are incredible at their work!

002

This is how she looks from the back!

All of her characteristic features are all nicely visable – from her spats down to the bandage on her arm.  Plus take a look at the coloring detail on her shoes – it’s amazing!

003

She shoots, she scores!

She comes with an optional basket ball!
You can make good use of the figma stand here to create an epic mid-game pose with the basket ball! I haven’t played with a figma in so long – it’s so much fun!

004

Her first extra expression – closed eyes!

It might be hard to tell from the photo, but even her eyelashes are perfectly Kanbaru – they look exactly like the series!

By the way!
The background is from the 1/8th scale Kanbaru figure!

I just quickly grabbed a sample from the production team which is probably still going through some changes, but even so you can see how nicely it works with other figures including figmas!

005

A surprised face and monkey paw!

This face is perfect for when she is talking with Ararararagi – be sure to display the two of them together sometimes! The monkey paw is replaceable in place of her bandaged arm!

006

The Rainy Devil!

This is the reason I just had to do a review of this figma!

This is just incredible, Max Factory!!

To have included this classic option in with the figma! It’s just perfect for fans of the series – you can even recreate the awesome fight scene between her and Arararagi!

She comes with a Rainy Devil face and a yellow raincoat!
Plus she also has a different monkey paw – this one is a closed paw while the previous was an open paw! Just one thing to note though, is that the raincoat might still undergo some changes before release.

009

“Will you still stay then…?”

Ah… I finally got to do it! I really loved this scene and I just had to put it up! xD
I really, really loved this part in the anime – I’ve watched it so many times, and just thinking about it while typing this up brings a tear to my eye!

Is everyone enjoying their new figure?

016

Good Smile Company’s 1/8th Scale:

Hitagi Senjougahara!

The finale of the Senjougahara blogs is here.

It’s quite the challenge to show everyone the production side of the figure world, but I was really amazed by how it was all done while I was in China, so I want to try and convey that amazement to all my readers.  You can find the previous parts of the Senjougahara blogs here:

1/8th Scale Hitagi Senjougahara (Part 1)
1/8th Scale Hitagi Senjougahara (Part 2)
1/8th Scale Hitagi Senjougahara (Part 3)

012

Lat time I went through how the stationary was painted.

For the part in the picture above, the scissors, pen and ruler would all me made as a single part and then painted by using various masks.

Today we’ll look at how the painted pieces are put together!

018

In this photo, the eraser and the tips of the ruler are being glued together.

This is done one-by-one!

The little pink container in front of her hands here is filled with a special bonding agent, and the little sacks on her fingers are to prevent the glue from sticking to her skin!

019

The biggest part – the scissors.

As you can see these are actually first made in two different halves.

Then, once again…

020

They are glued together, one-by-one!

The toothpicks there are actually tools used for the gluing – the sculptors here at Good Smile actually use the little toothpicks as well!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… the factory workers in China really are craftsman!!

021

Gluing the outer and inner parts of the stapler!

The stapler has a large area in which the outer and inner parts can be glued together, so by creating them in two seperate pieces and then gluing them together a more accurate rendition of a stapler can easily be made.

022

The scissors, craft knife have all been glued together!

There isn’t much place to glue the smaller parts like the craft knife and pen, so gluing them is very difficult –  if you use too little glue they’ll come apart, but if you use too much the glue will end up visable.

There is no way I’d ever be able to do this…!!

026

Pens are being glued on here…

Take a look at the bottom right to see a complete part… how can it be so tiny!?
I don’t even think I could hold a pen that small…

023

By the way, let me pose a question to you now…
How do they always come out at the same angle?

It’s done by using these little tools:

024

Bases that adjust the angles!

As the gluing is done the parts are placed on these bases to make sure the angles are correct.

Every single Senjougahara figure has every single part finely tuned like this! It’s incredible!

025

Finally a little dusting!

Particularly clear parts like the ruler show dust very easily, so at the end of the process all the parts are dusted off with this fluffy little tool.
Careful work down to the very end!

You can appreciate the price of scale figures seeing how much work needs to put into them. I’m definitely keeping better care of my figures ever since my China trip!

But today I’ll be looking at some other new products!

028
figmas of Hitagi Senjougahara and Koyomi Araragi!

They look so good displayed with one and other!
Ararararagi-san doesn’t get nearly as many figures as Senjougahara, so this is for all those Araragi fans!

I want more figures of male characters… please sell, Araragi!!

030

figma Hitagi Senjougahara!

She comes with three different expressions, as well as a ton of stationary just like the scale figure… she also comes with exchangeable hair parts to put her hair up in a pony tail! You can create all kinds of scenes from the anime… and even more if you grab Araragi as well.

031

Araragi also comes with three expressions, separate fringe parts, his bag and effect parts! I really love the two different fringe parts – the one covers up his eye and the other one shows it.

Plus you need to see the back of his neck!

You can see the teeth marks from Shinobu-san… It’s perfect!

033

Recreate the first episode!

Everyone remembers the scene where Senjougahara fell from the stairs!

Extra News!

1/8th Scale Suruga Kanbaru coming soon!

It looks like yet another incredible figure…
It’ll be on the blog sometime soon as well, so look forward to it!

027

Random Extra!

This here is one of the foods I ate while in China, it’s called “Ankake Fried Rice”, it came out on the a baking dish which I thought was interesting. ^^;

Chinese food has a very fine taste to it which I actually really enjoyed!

I also have a photo of some of the giant clam that I ate… but it looked a little gross so I decided to lave it off the blog…. though it actually was very tasty. 😛

That’s all for today!

I hope to see you all again tomorrow!! (・∀・)ノ゛
